Mum

God has blessed me with my wonderful and loving mum. She will soon be 80 in June 2022.

My mum has a host of health challenges.  Three years ago, she was diagnosed with dementia.  At her last memory clinic appointment in May 2022, the two attending specialists placed her at the  mild stage.  It is a miracle.  God is so merciful and gracious.

Daily, I pray for God to cover her.  I pray for God's presence to surround.  I pray for God to protect her from seen and unseen danger.  God is so powerful, He watches over our loved ones. All glory be to God our help, our hope and all we can say is that God is loving and kind.  His mercies are new every morning.  Each day, we live in the light of His love.  Each day, we cry out to our maker.  He is faithful.

The Pure in Heart shall See Your Face

I am out brisk walking this glorious morning.  Lord, let everything that has breath praise Your glorious name.  

Let the power of Your presence flood our hearts. Fill us till we overflow.  Let every heart that seek You rejoice. 

The pure in heart shall see Your face.  The pure in heart shall hear Your voice.  The pure in heart shall behold You in Your beauty and splendour.

  

Teach us to number our days.  We worship You almighty God.  We bow in humble adoration.

Awakened by Your Love

Each day as we are awakened by Your love. We are overwhelmed by Your goodness. The privilege of knowing You is endless.  

We rise with hope and purpose. We are awakened by Your mercy and grace. We are awakened by Your hope.

We are blessed beyond our wildest imagination. You fill us with exceeding great joy. You warm our hearts with Your love. Love so deep. Love so strong. Love so wide. Love divine.

You bless us with wholeness and healing. You provide for our every need. You calm our raging seas. You give meaning and purpose to live.

Lord, we are eternally grateful. Grateful for every breath. Grateful for undying hope. Grateful to love and serve You and Your people.

Come, Lord!  Come into every part of us that is broken.  Broken hearts, broken dreams, broken lives. Renew, rebuild and restore us by the power of Your spirit.  Energise and empower us to live in Your will. Transform and work Your purposes in us.  Lead us into Your path.  Order our desires and align our hearts to Yours.  Pour Your spirit on us and make us whole again. 

Almighty God

Lord, You flow through every broken vessel.  You flow through every contrite heart.  You flow through our broken lives.  Bring us deeper into Your grace.  Bring us deeper into Your love.  Bring us deeper into Your presence.  Let Your fire consume us. Let Your fire purify us.  Let Your fire burn deeper and stronger in our hearts.  Fresh fire of Your love.  Fresh fire of Your anointing. Fresh fire of Your power.  Come Lord, enter in.  Enter in, our King of glory.  Our Rock of ages.  Our soon and coming King.  Our eternal God. Joy

Only God can cause our hearts to leap with joy.  The stress and challenge of life will never knock us down.  Deep joy comes from the Lord.  The problems may not be solved.  The heartache is real.  Yet, the joy of the Lord is our strength.  Joy unspeakable. Overflowing joy that bubbles over.  God reminds us that He is actively at work in every area of our lives.  He has numbered the strands of hair on our heads.  He has engraved our names on His palms.  We rest in everlasting joy.  Joy that lasts because of His love never ends.

We Will Follow You

It does not matter where You are leading us.  We will You to the very end.  Lead us to Your rushing river.  Lead us to Your breathtaking peak.  Bring us to Your straight and narrow path.  We have decided to follow You.  Lead us to Your liberating love.  Lead us to Your calming presence. Lead us to Your empowering grace.  No matter how hard it is.  We have decided to follow You. 

We Cry Out to You

As children of the most high God, we have the privilege to cry out to the Lord. We call on His almighty name.  We reach out through the maddening crowd to touch the hem of His garment.  We need Him desperately.  Without Him we will never survive.

His ears are inclined to our cries.  A mother praying for her wayward son,  a father praying for his struggling business.  A young lady battling spiralling depression.  The Lord cares and loves us deeply.  He knows our pain and struggles.  He is the only one who holds all things together.  

He challenges us to trust Him with all of our hearts.  As we lay our lives on the altar.  He consumes us in His love and divine power.  He works mighty miracles and opens our hearts to understand that there is absolutely nothing He cannot do.  

He calls us to Himself.  He calls us to purity.  He calls to linger in His courts.  To behold His power and His grace.

He is Lord

Today marks the the 9 of my 12 IV Methylprednisolone treatment. God has poured His mercy and grace lavishly on me.  

The only reason why I am alive today is because of the sustaining love and power of God. God had blessed Monte and I beyond our wildest imagination. There is no greater love. There is none like our God and Saviour.  

The Lord reaches to the innermost part of our being. He releases His strength and power. The love of God envelopes us. The power of God’s presence gives us energy and strength to press on.  

We experience God's empowering presence every moment of the day. God comes powerfully into our lives and shows the world that He is Lord. Every knee will bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord.  Lord of all.

Be Magnified

I started blogging in 2007.  I am thankful that Jee Fong's Corner is kept on all these years.  I am grateful that I have penned down the precious experiences God has brought me through.

I see the height, depth and breadth of the love of God.  I taste the goodness and grace of God.  I know His rich mercies that are new every morning.  

God's loving kindness is better than life. He is like honey in the rock.  What divine joy and hope!  O, magnify the Lord!  Be exalted.  Be high and lifted up.  God of great power.  God of great grace.  God of great love.

Let every thing that has breath bless His holy name. Let every heart that seeks Him rejoice!  The eternal purpose of God is fulfilled in every broken vessel. 

Faith Touches the Heart of God

Back in June 1999 - April 2000, Monte and I were in Asia Pacific Theological Seminary in Baguio, Philippines. Housing Development Board (HDB) of Singapore notified us that the application for our flat in Sengkang is approved and it was time for selection. 

We came back to Singapore around April 2000.  I vividly remember Monte and I went to the foot of our HDB block. We prayed around the block. God honours faith. Our faith touches the heart of God. 

God provided me a job and we were able to purchase the flat. He is Jehovah Jireh. He meets all our needs.

God is the centre of our focus. The Lord draws us to Himself. He wants 100 percent from you and I. He wants to flood our hearts with His love. He wants to empower us with His word. He wants to newew us with His presence.

Monte and I moved into our 17th floor (highest floor) flat in August 2001. Our hearts well up with thanksgiving. God is faithful. He blesses us beyond our wildest imagination. He is our provider. He is all we ever needed.

Mighty God

In the midst of IV Methylprednisolone treatment for my thyroid eye disease, I battle the side effects of the medicine.  As the going gets tough, the Lord reminds me of His active involvement in every facet of my life.  I taste the goodness of God.  I know His unfailing love.  I receive His overflowing mercy and grace.

The journey to the heart of God is filled with unending mercies and empowering love.  God pours His grace on us.  The storm will end.  The birds will fly again.  God's merciful grace helps us when our knees are weak.  He never leave us nor forsake us.  He gives us a living hope.  He spurs us on to persevere in love.  God's love is deeper than the deepest ocean.  How can we ever live another moment without Him.  His sustaining power works mightily to transform us.  He reveals His unwavering love for us through the move of His spirit in our broken lives.  Lord, touch our hearts.  Manifest Your love and power  through each of us.

God's Sustaining Power

God sustains us moment by moment. Every breath is a sign of God's power. His breath gives us life.  His breath gives us hope.  His breath keeps us alive.

God's sustaining power covers us. God's sustaining love carries us through every trial. God's sustaining power renews us daily. 

We stand amazed at His greatness.  We marvel at His unfailing love. We extol our God and King.

Seeking Him

We live in a day and age when everyone and everything is clamouring for our attention. The need to possess more.  Our wants are outpacing our needs.  We need more to be content.

More than ever, people are chasing the elusive dream.  Adding another zero to our bank account takes precedent.  Owning more assets drive more to the point of exhaustment.  It is no longer enough to have the basics as luxuries once enjoyed becomes a necessity.  Prestige, power and status is the mainstay. 

In the pursuit of a better life, many have lost kingdom perspective and purposes.  God is looking for men and women who choose to put Him first.  He is looking for people who yearn for Him. He is looking for men and women who pursue Him at all cost even willing to lay down their lives.  God draws us by His Spirit.  He orders our desires.  He align our lives to His destiny and plan for us.  He goes through and fro, seeking a people who hunger and thirst for Him.  A people who is set apart for Him. 

The Rainbow Of Hope

We have a fish tank at home. The reflection of the water forms a rainbow on the wall behind the fish tank.  Another one is formed on the living room ceiling.  The rainbow of hope beams far and wide in the hearts of God's redeemed people. 

The rainbow is a sign of the love of God.  A sign of hope.  A sign of newness.  It is a sign of God's faithfulness.  God comes into our lives, He began something new in us.  His refreshing love and power spur us on to love Him deeply.  He loved us into submission.  He loved us into surrender.  He loved us into abandonment.

Hope arise when our eyes are fixed on our maker.  Hope arise when we rest in His love.  Hope arise when we bow at His feet.

Magnify The Lord

As I battle thyroid eye disease since the end of December 2019, all I see the God's tender mercies and love. God is actively at work in our darkest hours. He reminds me of His abiding presence with every breath that I breathe.

At one of my appointment at Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC), Dr S, told me that seven people are working together to treat me. Off my mind comes the opthalmologist, endocrinologist, radio oncologist, radiographer and three others. Dr S assured me that the whole team at SNEC are doing all they can for me and I was in good hands. 

God is so good. He brings medical experts to treat me. This is not by chance.  God orchestrates our circumstances to bless us. He connects us to people and resources.  God opens doors. He directs everything in our lives.

The Lord challenges us to put our complete trust in Him.  When He comes, He comes in His might and power.  He showers us with His mercy and grace. 

We lean on our redeemer. He leads us to great heights and deeper depths in Him. He is fully dependable.  

Oh, magnify the Lord! Our God is greatly to be exalted. We will bless His holy name. We will extol His great name.

The Love Of My Life

The Christmas of 2018, we wanted to send Christmas greetings to our family and friends.  We headed to Emerald Hill road for the photo taking.  A student passed by and helped us to take this shot.  It turned out so well.

Monte, my lover, supporter, encourager, confidante, helper, motivator, closest friend, prayer partner.  My inspiration.  The love of my love.

His Love And Power

On 19 April 2022, I received a WhatsApp message from my friend, JL. The bus she was on passed by my flat and she said a simple prayer for me.  I was touched and her love and concern. 

Like JL, many people have reached out to me in varied ways.  I appreciate every prayer, encouragement and loving support.  

As we journey with the Lord, God blesses us physically, socially, emotionally and financially.  One of greatest blessings is to receive love, care and support from people.  

Many who spent time and energy to intercede for us.  Many who encourage and support in hard times. Many who choose to journey with us with no strings attached.

As we build these relationships.  God deepens the ties and connections.  God gel our hearts together to trust Him for the miraculous.  

Faith comes from God alone.  As a faith community, the Lord joins our hearts together to see His wonder and power.  He manifest His presence through every heart that yearns for Him.  

He manifests His glory to His children who are calling on His name day and night. His desire to bless us goes beyond ourselves.  My family, church, friends, neighbours, communities and colleagues are recipients of the goodness of God. He blessed expansively and extensively.

All glory be to God.  Our eternal God reaches out to touch our broken hearts.  He brings hope and restoration.  He bring wholeness and healing.  He comes into our darkness and luminate Himself.  He shows us His power and glory as we behold Him. A God who never fails.  A God who is always constant and reliable.  We put our complete trust in our maker.  His redemptive love and power sustains daily.

Ascribe Greatness To Our God

Here is a quick update here for you.  Today is session five of my 12 IV Methylprednisolone treatment at Singapore National Eye Centre. 

From the first IV Methylprednisolone treatment on 23 March 2022, I had trouble sleeping on the very night that I go through IMPT.  The doctor prescribed some medication to help me to sleep the very night when I have to go through IMPT (in the morning). 

My side effects from IMPT are metallic taste in my mouth, swelling in some parts of my body,  occasional heart palpitations occasional occasional, breathlessness and stiffness in the legs and the lossening of a canine from my gums.  Generally my guns are weakened. 

An ECG was taken at the start of the treatment today.  It was alright.  After the treatment, another ECG was done. It did not go well.  The nurse had to check with my opthalmologist.  She finally cleared me to leave Singapore National Eye Centre.  Praise be to God!

To help to mitigate the side effects of Methylprednisolone, my opthalmologist stretched the duration of my treatment time today.  It helped.  

The mercies of God are new every morning.  Great is His faithfulness.  I marvel at the love and power of God.  He is constant.  His love never fails.  We ascribe greatness to our God, the rock!  There is nothing impossible for God!

Great is Our God

God works through every facet of our lives. He works through our pain and anguish. He works through our sorrow and heartaches. In our weakness, He is our strength.

God is far bigger than the harshest storm. He is far stronger than any existential threat. There is none who is greater and stronger than the Lord.

We emerge stronger and more courageous through every crisis. God works His purposes and plans as we go through the fire. 

The fire will not burn us. The flood will not drown us. His love prevails. His love conquers all. His love reigns. 

Lord, our hearts are overwhelmed by Your presence. Your ever increasing power. Your ever increasing glory. Your ever increasing grace.

Your Wonder Working Power

During this time when I undergo IV Methylprednisolone treatment (IMPT) to treat my thyroid eye disease, something wonderful happened.  IMPT targets at reducing inflammation.

In October 2020, I discovered an inflamed tendon behind my right ankle.  This is called tendinosis.  The orthopaedic specialist suggested surgery should the pain become unbearable. 

Over the last four IMPT, the Methylprednisolone is reducing the inflammation of my tendinosis.  All glory be to Him who lives forevermore. 

This is what it is all about.  We live in the light of God's glory.  We live to taste His goodness. We live to see the power of His glory.  We find every circumstance to praise God.  God is actively at work in every area of our lives.  He reaches out to us in His love and mercy.  

Restoration and Healing

In February 2022, I had to go to a locum doctor at Sengkang Polyclinic because of my Covid positive status.  Inside the clinic, I saw a heavily pregnant woman.  At another glance, a woman was carrying a child less than a year old.  My heart broke.

Covid is no longer happening at far flung places like America, South America or Europe.  It is now at our door steps.

I am currently undergoing IV Methylprednisolone treatment to treat my thyroid eye disease. On 6 April 2022.  A child was at the next cubicle at Singapore National Eye Centre Dayward.  His persistent and heartbreaking crying broke my heart.

Lord, touch our lives.  Touch the broken and the sick.  Extend Your hand of mercy.  Pour out Your grace and love.  We need You, Lord.  Come into this broken world and bring wholeness and healing. 

Coming Out Of Our Comfort Zone

Journeying with God is mind blowing. We may not know where the Lord will take us. What matters most is His presence that abides in us. 

He leads us by the hand. He assures us of His love and presence.

God brings us out of our comfort zone. He graces us as we are pored out as a drink offering.  

As we step out in full faith, our merciful God anoints and empowers us. Our eyes begin to see.  Our ears begin to hear. The power of God is released to touch the broken world.  

Broken hearts. Broken lives. Broken dreams. The Lord takes them all. He turns our mess into something beautiful.  He turns our mourning into joy. He turns our lives around.

Coming out of our comfort zone takes courage. God pours His mercy and grace on us. He grants us supernatural strength and ability to do what He alone can do through us. 

God is raising up a people of power. A people of strength. A people of might. His name is exalted through our broken lives.  He brings us out of our comfort zone to bless us.

Eternally Grateful

Monte and I are thankful to family and friends who have blessed us in so many ways. Our hearts well up with thanksgiving everytime we think of these precious people.

Monte and I were down with Covid in February 2022. Thank God that we recovered. During this time, people reached out to us through prayer and gifts. Our friends, S and L had lunch delivered to us via food delivery platform. On the next day, L, asked if we would need lunch. We thanked her and conveyed our deep appreciation. Another friend A, sent us a huge bag of fruits that lasted us a long time. My brother sent so much food to us. We appreciate all for their love, care and concern. Their tangible act of love touched us deeply.

In April 2022, my friend, L, gave me probiotics Another time, another friend, K, gave me super strength cranberry tablets when I came down with severe urinary tract infection. I am deeply touched.

D, blessed us with so much Chinese New Year goodies on two separate occasions. We are thankful.

My father-in-law went home to be with the Lord in March 2022. Our friend, F, blessed us with a huge bouquet of roses. She touched our hearts tangibly. 

In November 2023, I lost my spectacles. G paid for a brand new pair of spectackes for me. G touched my heart deeply.

In April this year, L bought us a rice cooker. We are grateful.

God shows His love and care to us in ways that our minds cannot comprehend. Our hearts are overwhelmed by His love. We receive His bountiful blessings. We receive a sign of His goodness. God has blessed us beyond our wildest imagination.

 

He leads us by the hand to His living streams. He pours His mercy and grace lavishly on us. We are eternally grateful to the Lord.

Thank You, Lord!

Thank you, family and friends for your loving concern and heartfelt prayers. 

Yesterday was session 3 of my IV Methylprednisolone treatment (IMPT).  Thank God that my ECG and blood test were alright. 

The IV needle was first inserted on my left hand. It was not successful. The nurse next tried to insert a new IV needle on my right hand.  It worked. Praise the Lord. 

God watches over us.  He keeps us from all harm.  He hems us in. Our God is in complete control. We can trust Him in every season of our lives. 

Next Wednesday will be my fourth IMPT. God's faithfulness reaches to the sky. 

Immanuel

God is so good. I completed session two of my twelve IV Methylprednisolone treatment (IMPT) at Singapore National Eye Centre today. My ECG, blood pressure and blood test all cleared. Thank God for His marvelous love. Thank God for His miraculous work. Thank God for a sign of His goodness. Next Wednesday is session three of my IMPT. The power of God’s presence envelopes me and empowers me daily. His sustaining power keeps me alive.

Here is a little background for more clarity. In February 2021, I was diagnosed with Grave's disease. What came along was thyroid eye disease. My eyelids started swelling end of 2020. I have been battling with thyroid eye disease for more than a year. His mercy reigns.

In November 2021, I went through ten sessions of radiotherapy (radiation) to treat my thyroid eye disease. God miraculous provided for the treatment. God did not just provide financially, He gives me excellent, professional and caring specialists and doctors to treat me.

My IMPT was delayed for a couple of months because of severe urinary tract infection (UTI).  Imagine not being able to make it to the bathroom from my bed. For the whole duration of my IMPT, the urologist administered low dosage of antibiotics.  

Since 2018, I have been battling chronic diseases.  Had the Lord not provided the finance and competent medical experts, I do not think I will be around today. 

On 23 March 2022, before my IMPT, an ECG was done. There was abnormality. The attending opthalmologist said that he would like me to see a cardiologist should I not clear my ECG today. I was elated to know that my ECG report is good. 

At this point, I am seeing a few specialists. Adding a cardiologist is the last thing I need.

God is actively at work in our lives. In our deepest pain and darkest moment, He abides in us. He is not a figment of our imagination. He is God eternal. The omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient God.  He cares deeply for us.  Before we can utter our prayers, He already knows everything. He is Immanuel. God with us. 

He builds faith in us to believe Him for the miraculous. Faith comes from God. He grows our faith. He teaches us to walk by faith and not by sight.  

Our God reigns. There is no shifting shadows in our redeemer. He gives us a living hope that never dies. We celebrate His love. We celebrate His goodness. We celebrate Jesus. 

We see the power, goodness and glory of God daily. Our merciful God continues to journey with us. He is the reason why we have joy, purpose and hope. 

Persevere

Last Sunday, I noticed a hard lump near my right ankle.  The following day, I saw the doctor.  X Ray was taken and the report suggested tendinosis.  Tendinosis is the degeneration of the tendon's collagen in response to chronic overuse.

Over the years, I faced a couple of health challenges.  Tendinosis added more stress to my body.  It is daunting.  Monte and I pray for God's healing and grace in this new health challenge. 

We will praise the Lord at all times.  Our eyes may grow dimmer.  Our limbs may be more feeble.  Our energy level may decline.  God is the strength of our heart.  

He endows us with new strength, zeal and fervour.  We will pursue Him with every breath.  

We are not contented with the knee-high water.  We are not contented with the waist-high water.  We want to swim in His river.  We want to immerse ourselves completely in the river of His spirit.

The legendary Amy Carmichael, the renowned missionary to India, was bedridden for many years before her death. She continued to love the Lord passionately.  She envisioned climbing the mountain of God in her heart and spirit.  She never stopped pursuing God, not even on her death bed. 

Lord, teach us to persevere.  Teach us to press on.  To love and serve You in whatever manner You desire.  

Move powerfully through our lives and ministries.  Touch our hearts.  Set our hearts ablazed.  Burn Your deep desires in us.  We put our complete trust in our maker. 

Empower Us

The life and light of Christ radiate through our broken lives.  In our vulnerable moments, the power of God's grace sustains us.  Every trial is an open opportunity for God to work in and through us.  The chiseling goes on.  The master is working tirelessly to bring out the gem in us.  Our lives are a testament of the goodness of God.  When the impurities are removed,  we will see the reflection of the face of God.  Lord, empower us to soldier on.  To reach the journey of a lifetime in seeking You.

His Loving Purposes

Life is precious.  Most people can hold their breath up to two minutes. Every breath is a miracle from God.  Our lives are just one breath away.  God in His love and mercy keeps us alive.  Alive to love Him.  Alive to taste His goodness.  Alive to see His glory.

The dreams and hopes that God has birthed in our heart and spirit rest in the loving hands of God.  With this life He has given us, we want to live it to the fullest.  When the voices around us deter us from going on.  We must not waver and sway. We will reach the final destination as long as our eyes are on our maker.  He will make a way when there seems to be no way.  

It is very easy for anyone to throw in the towel.  God beckons us to enter His rest.  He gives us peace and solace in life's perilous journey.  He grants supernatural strength and tenacity.  He desires our full concentration on Him.  He empowers us to live in and through His loving grace.  We live to fulfil His loving purposes.

Making Room for the Holy Spirit

God empowers us to live for Him daily. The promised Holy Spirit comes in His power and glory. He engulfs us. He possesses us. He envelopes us. By the power of God’s Spirit, we find liberty and strength.

Lord, teach us to make room for Your Spirit to move mightily in and through us. We desire to be in tune with the Spirit of God. We embrace Your loving purposes. We make room for the Holy Spirit to move upon us.

Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on us. Come mightily on us. Order our desires so that our lives will be a living sacrifice for Your glory. Consume our broken lives as we lay on Your altar.

Creative Power

Last week I dropped a needle on my carpet. I was searching but failed to find the needle. An idea popped up and I went to get a magnet. With the magnet, I found the needle effortlessly.

When we encounter problems in life, we call out to the Lord for help and guidance. God endows us with creative ability to solve problems. Ultimately it is not our ingenuity. It is not our wisdom and talent. These are all God given strengths and abilities. It is God's creative power at work in us.
