Running Over

The blessings of the Lord is on His children. When the Lord blesses us, He does not merely fill us up to the brim, He continues to bless us till we overflow. His blessings run over, He blesses us and beyond. It is extended to our children, our parents, our siblings, our nieces and nephews and beyond. The heart of God reaches out to touch His own. He promised to bless our children’s children. He picked up from the miry clay, rescue and restore us and bestow His blessing on us although we do not deserve anything. For He first loved us.

Seeing Things from a Different Angle

We are all different and we see things differently. Looking at the picture in this post, some of us may see the young lady while others may see the elderly woman. One of the many lessons we can glean from this is that it is helpful to be open to the views and opinions of others because we often see things from different angles. Not only can we learn from others, we are reminded that they might be more than one-way to get things done. Our way may not be the only right one.

In the body of Christ, the Lord desires unity and love to permeate from the leadership right down to every member in the church. In our desire to build the church, we exercise tolerance and openness to hear and understand diverse views and contributions. Pride and arrogance will hinder the work of God but brotherly love, submission and openness make room for the Lord to work in and through us.

Playing Second Fiddle

Not everyone gets to lead all the time. Sometimes the Lord puts us in a place where we may not be in the heat of things. It may be a support role.

Seemingly, people may not see or hear us but the Lord never fails to honour our faithfulness.

One time I learnt of a Christian who was so happy to be given the opportunity to serve God by washing plastic communion cups.

The beauty of such an act of loving service radiate far and wide.

It is not the bigness or grandness of our ministry that touches the heart of God.  Our loving submission and faithfulness speak volume.

As Close As the Mention of His Name

God is not a figment of our imagination. He is alive. He is not made of gold, silver or wood.

He hears us, He walks with us and He is always with us. He journeys with us through our joy and sorrow. He is our only hope. His love never fails.

He is as close as the mention of His name. When we cry out to Him, He hears us. Our deliverer and helper rescues us. His merciful love prevails.

His name is matchless and wonderful. The Name that is above all other names. He deserves our highest praise.

Find Us Faithful

I came to the Lord in 1980. I am thankful to the people whom God graciously put in my life to show me the show.

God uses each of us at one point or another to help a fellow believer. A two-month-old Christian looks up to a two-year-old Christian. We have not arrived but God minister through us as we avail ourselves to Him. May the Lord help us to be faithful in our witness. May the people who come behind us find us faithful as we allow God to shine through us for His glory.

Find Us Faithful

We're pilgrims on the journey
Of the narrow road
And those who've gone before us line the way
Cheering on the faithful, encouraging the weary
Their lives a stirring testament to God's sustaining grace

Surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses
Let us run the race not only for the prize
But as those who've gone before us
Let us leave to those behind us
The heritage of faithfulness passed on through godly lives

Chorus:
Oh may all who come behind us find us faithful
May the fire of our devotion light their way
May the footprints that we leave
Lead them to believe
And the lives we live inspire them to obey
Oh may all who come behind us find us faithful

After all our hopes and dreams have come and gone
And our children sift though all we've left behind
May the clues that they discover and the memories they uncover
Become the light that leads them to the road we each must find
