Food Fusion

Ours is a mixed marriage. Monte is Caucasian and I am Chinese. We have been married for over eleven years and being married is not just two different persons coming together to make a life together. Along with it, we have to contend with merging two different cultures and way of life. One area that we influence each other is in the area of food, to be exact it should be termed as food fusion.

One day while we were walking along Orchard Road, Monte said that he had a craving for wonton noodles. The mention of wonton noodles immediately conjures up images of succulent and juicy char siew (barbeque roast pork), mouth-watering wontons (dumplings) and tangy noodles. It often sends us scouting for the best Wonton Noodles sprawled all over Singapore. I have come a long way too. I have never had a thing for spaghetti all my life, this changed since the year 1999 when we got married. Great and tantalizing spaghetti came on me fast and furious as Monte makes awesome and great tasting spaghetti. Today, I can eat spaghetti as my main meal anytime.
