We Fix Our Eyes On You

Lord, help us to fix our eyes on You. Not on things that are here today and gone tomorrow.

Only You can satisfy our deepest longings. We pray for You to flood our hearts with Your love and presence.

Give us eyes to see Your vision. Grant us ears to incline to Your heart cry. 

We fix our eyes on You. 

We are carried by Your wings of love. Strengthen us and bring us release. Our hearts are burning with unending hope.

Life giver

It is amazing and great to be alive. God gives us breath. He enables us to walk, run, swim and carry out a myriad of activities. Just the thought of swallowing blows our minds. It takes about thirty mouth and throat muscles and multiple nerves to enable us to swallow. God, our master designer has created us wonderfully. The Lord sustains us moment of moment. Any man who boasts of his strength, riches and status is off course because our life is hanging by a single breath. Only the life giver can breathe His breath into our being. The Lord sustains us daily.

Dear Lord, only You alone can satisfy our longings. We cling to You. We lean on Your arms of love. Flood our hearts with Your love, Lord! We need You desperately. Lord, strengthen and empower to live victoriously.

Unearthing Rich Treasures

We spend our whole life unearthing treasures.  Treasures not linked to fame and fortune but rich treasures of Christ. 

Our hearts pined for the Lord, we long for things that are eternal. 

Earthly treasures can be destroyed by a fire, a flood or a natural calamity but when we accumulate heavenly treasures in the Lord, it will last through all eternity. 

This treasure is like a priceless and precious pearl.  It is the most costly gem this world has ever known.  

Down the corridors of time, great men and women gave up their lives in pursuit of the treasures of God. 

Each moment that we share with the Lord draws us deeper in this pursuit.  Fame and fortune has lured many hearts but what keeps the children of God thriving are things that money cannot buy.  

We need more of You, Lord.  More of Your presence, more of Your word, more of Your voice, more of everything that draws us closer to You. 

Lord, lead and guide us this day into Your awesome presence.  We behold You in Your splendour and glory forevermore.  

We continue to unearth Your rich treasures as we cling on to You daily in love and intimacy.  

Let our life be consumed by the earnest desire to seek You without reservation. We are drawn by treasures that last for all eternity.  All glory and honour be unto You, O Lord!

Sing Unto the Lord

In my time alone with the Lord today, I was singing Psalm 42. God has given us the amazing ability to make melodies to worship Him. 

Psalm 42

1 As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, my God.
2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When can I go and meet with God?
3 My tears have been my food
day and night,
while people say to me all day long,
‘Where is your God?’

as I pour out my soul:
how I used to go to the house of God
under the protection of the Mighty One[d]
with shouts of joy and praise
among the festive throng.
5 Why, my soul, are you downcast?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,

Come, Holy Spirit

The Spirit of God comes upon us. He comes like a mighty wind. He comes like a powerful force. He comes like a strong gushing water. He comes as a consuming fire.  

At other times, the Holy Spirit comes like a gentle breeze. Comforting and strengthening us.

We experience the gentle nudge of the Spirit daily. The healing presence of God surrounds us in our darkest moments. He woos us into His holy presence. He beckons us to follow Him to the ends of the earth.

The Holy Spirit carries us on the wings of love. 

He is with us every moment of our life. He is with us in every seaso  of our lives. 

  

We worship the Lord  with every breath we take.

We are a walking miracle because the breath of God keeps us alive.  

He is with us in our ups and downs, thick and thin, good and difficult times. Even during seasons when our hearts are heavy leaden, He is with us. Loving us. Waiting patiently.  

The Holy Spirit empowers us. The strength of God’s Spirit spurs us on to do great exploits for the Lord.

Come, Holy Spirit, we need You.  We cry out to You to restore and revive us.  

Lord, create in us a pure heart so that we will see You in Your glory and Your grace.

Resonance

Last evening, Monte and I spent a lovely evening at the Botanic Garden. We were delighted to attend a concert by Resonance. Resonance is a group of semi-professional sheng players. Though there was a slight drizzle, it was heartening that many stayed on soaking in the music under their umbrellas.

The Lovely Botanic Garden

Last Saturday evening, Monte and I were praying at the Botanic Garden. The view was awesome and it felt good because it was not humid. God's creation is beautiful. His splendour and glory radiate through the water, ferns, trees, leaves, flowers, grass and the great lush greenery.

Over the years, we see God's faithfulness and goodness. When we pray, we rely on the supreme God who is in total control of our life. We pray and intercede and see God come through for us. We have experienced miracles and seen the hand of God. When we seek the Lord, He will be found. He turns the broken pieces of our life and make something beautiful; something amazing. Lord, draw us by Your Spirit and sanctify us today.

Faithful God

Last night, Monte and I were out to see the fireworks at Marina Bay area.  It was breathtaking and awesome.  The only way to enjoy the fireworks is to take it all in, the sight, sound and smell.  We have caught many fireworks in the past but we never get tired of it.  

The first of day of 2014 is refreshing.  Seeing what God has done in the past year and anticipating what God will do this year makes my heart leap with joy and hope.  We certainly face tremendous challenges, we continue to soldier on by God's grace.  There is absolutely nothing the Lord cannot do.  When God opens our spirit eyes to see and unstop our ears to hear, faith builds up within us and we begin to explode within us.  We see the endless opportunities, we see hope and possibilities, optimism and faith filled expectations.  God is faithful and true.  He unfolds His purposes and plans to us and walk us through every step of the way.  Faith pleases God.  When faith arises, we begin to experience open heaven, open doors and other openings that God allows.

We continue to offer ourselves to love and serve the Lord in whatever capacity He desires. God is supreme.  God is sovereign.  We are His conduit, His extension and the couriers and carriers of His presence.  Lord, let Your fire burn stronger in us.  Let it burn brighter.  We fixed our eyes on You and call upon Your name. The name above all names; glorious, beautiful and majestic.
