Lamb Of Glory

In the year 1987, I had the privilege to be a part of an Easter Cantata called Lamb of Glory with Calvary Charismatic Centre, now known as Victory Family Centre.

Beautiful memories came flushing back to my mind; how the people came to our musical, some of whom would never step into a church if not for the fact that it was a musical.

Words are unable to describe how awesome it was to hear the different parts of the choir gelling together to make one voice in praise for the one we loved with all of our hearts. Everyone in church gave their all to make the Easter Cantata a great success for the glory of the Lord. At the end of everything, what thrilled me most was to see people receiving Jesus as their personal Lord and Saviour.

Lamb Of Glory
Hear the story from God's Word
That kings and priests and prophets heard
There would be a sacrifice
And blood would flow to pay sin's price

Precious Lamb of Glory
Love's most wondrous story
Heart of God's redemption of man
Worship the Lamb of Glory

On the cross God loved the world
While all the powers of hell were hurled
No one there could understand
The one they say was Christ the Lamb

Precious Lamb of Glory
Love's most wondrous story
Heart of God's redemption of man
Glory to the Lamb
Pure as snow I stand
Worshipping the Lamb of Glory
With the saints I will stand in eternity
Giving praise to the Lamb of Glory
Glory
Precious Lamb of Glory
Love's most wondrous story
Heart of God's redemption of man
Glory to the Lamb
Pure as snow I stand
Worshipping the Lamb of Glory

I Want To Sing

Have you ever wonder what it is like to be dumb, not to be able to speak a word. There are millions of believers on earth who may either be born mute or through accidents or diseases have lost their vocal capabilities.

But for all of us who has been blessed with a voice, we must continue to declare His praises from generation to generation. Let His glory fill this earth and let His praise fill my mouths.

As we sing of His love and mercy, we are drawn into greater intimacy with Him who has made us to praise Him and to glorify Him forevermore.

I Want To Sing

I want to sing
Until I am lost in Your love
Till I am found in Your presence
Worshipping before Your throne

Moved by Your Spirit
Entering into His flow
How precious these moments
Lord I want You to know

It's You, You who have won my heart
Taken me into Your arms
Comforted me like a friend
Your love surrounded me from the start
I never want to be apart
From You ever again

Harden Not Our Hearts

Ours hearts must always be soft and tender in order to hear the voice of the Lord.  Unpleasant or harsh circumstances we face daily or unedifying words that we receive from people may harden our hearts over time.  We need to come before His throne to allow Him to work in us.  If we choose to harden our hearts, we will be like clogged pipes that prevent water to flow through.

The streams of water in us will not flow out to touch others, we will be as dead as the dead sea. The stagnancy and deadness of our lives will surely lead us to utter doom and gloom. This is the very reason why God desires to see us flourish, thrive and grow in Him so that we can be His extended hand to reach out to others.

Lord, let our hearts remain soft and tender in You, let our hearts long for the courts of the Lord, let our hearts reach out to You all day long.

Crown Him With Many Crowns

Crown Him with Many Crowns

Crown him with many crowns,
the Lamb upon his throne,
Hark! how the heavenly anthem drowns
all music but its own.
Awake, my soul, and sing
of him who died for thee,
and hail him as thy matchless King
through all eternity
.

Crown him the Lord of life,
who triumphed o'er the grave,
and rose victorious in the strife
for those he came to save.
His glories now we sing, who died,
and rose on high,who died,
eternal life to bring,
and lives that death may die.

Crown him the Lord of peace,
whose power a scepter sways
from pole to pole, that wars may cease,
and all be prayer and praise.
His reign shall know no end,
and round his pierced feet
fair flowers of paradise extend
their fragrance ever sweet.

Crown him the Lord of love;
behold his hands and side,
those wounds, yet visible above,
in beauty glorified.
All hail, Redeemer, hail!
For thou hast died for me;
thy praise and glory shall not fail
throughout eternity.

As we exalt and magnify the most powerful name of Jesus, He reveals His glory and grace to us in ever increasing measure. Lord, we crown you the King of our lives. You are worthy to be worshipped, praise and adored!

He Cares for Them

All throughout the Bible, we see that the heart of God always reaching out to the poor and the needy. He would never despised them, He would never ignore them. He paid special attention to them because they are important to Him.

On January 15 this year, I learned from a Straits Times article that 300 million people in China are living in poverty. These are people who know what hunger pangs feel like, these are people whose preoccupation is where they can find their next meal. All other earthly ambitions are put on hold as their basic needs are not even met.

A couple of years ago, I was in a provision shop in a third world country. Someone dropped into the store and bought a can of food. It was tomato sauce with processed fats. That can of food was what that person was able to afford. There is no nutritional value in it. On the contrary, the fats would ultimately clog up the arteries. Many of us who live in more affluent countries may not comprehend the hardship the poor has to face daily.

As we are in the Lunar New Year period here in Singapore, the government as well as non government bodies seized this opportunity to help the poor and needy. It was heartening to learn that some needy elderly residents were presented with items and food stuff. One such item was abalone. Not many people get to eat such rich food, but it warms my heart that we care to give the best to people who truly deserve the best.

His Wonderful Name

As we meditate on the word of God, He overwhelms us with His goodness and awesomeness. Dwelling on the names of Christ will open our eyes to see and experience Him in a greater dimension.

He is:
the stone of Israel,
the peace offering,
a star,
the captain of the host of the Lord,
the rock of my salvation,
the light of the morning,
my shield,
my glory,
the lifter of my head,
my fortress,
my shepherd,
restorer,
the Lord mighty in battle,
king of glory,
a strong tower,
the king’s son,
God’s firstborn,
my high tower,
a friend that sticks closer than a brother,
ointment poured forth,
altogether lovely,
the Lord of hosts,
a great light,
wonderful,
counselor,
almighty God,
the everlasting Father,
the price of peace,
Jehovah,
my strength and my song,
a refuge from the storm,
a hiding place of the wind,
rivers of water in a dry place
the everlasting God,
my maker,
the redeemer,
the everlasting light

The list goes on.... He is just like a multi-faceted diamond. Shiny, glorious and beautiful to behold. The many names of Christ reveal His character in all His glory.

Slumberland

Some people are kept awake at night because of a crisis. A soured relationship. A rebellious teenage son, a straying spouse or a failing business.

Sometimes events in our lives can trigger fear and anxiety. Some become depress.

The word of God declares in Psalms 4:8 “I will lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.”

God alone sustains us with His mighty hand. He neither slumbers nor sleeps. He watches our going out and our coming in.

Every time we lay our heads to rest, we are reminded that our maker gives us the ability to sleep. He carries our burdens. He hears our heart-cries. He refreshes and energizes us to face the next day.

The storms and challenges of life will not rob us of our sleep. God is in complete control.

As we unload our problems, He carries our problems and burdens. God blesses us and we slumber away in deep sleep.

For our God is more than able to help us. He is our helper. He is our deliverer. God will make a way where there seems to be no way.

His Eye Is On The Sparrow

If the Lord cares for the birds of the air, what more for you and I, His handiwork, His masterpiece. We need not worry when we truly entrust our all to Him. In our hour of need, He amazes us with His providence. His love and care far supersedes any caregiver we may have been blessed with in our lifetime. He is always there for us and He will never fail us. So give Him all your hopes and dreams, give Him all the broken pieces of your life, give Him all of yourself and you will see Him work wonders with all that you offer up to Him. When we lean on the immovable rock, the solid rock, we have full assurance that His abiding presence is with us and His love is everlasting.

His Eye Is On The Sparrow

Why should I feel discouraged
Why should the shadows come
Why should my heart fell lonely
And long for heaven and home

When Jesus is my portion
A constant friend is he
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know he watches over me
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know he watches me

I sing because I'm happy
I sing because I'm free
His eye is on the sparrow

And I know he watches
He watches me
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know he watches
I know he watches
know he watches me

I sing because I'm happy
I sing because I'm free
His eye is on the sparrow

And I know he watches me
He watches me
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know he watches me
He watches me
He watches me, I never thought...
He watches me

How Great Is Our God

As high as the heavens is from the earth, so great is God who reigns forevermore. You are priceless, precious and wonderful. How could we ever make it on our own. You have clothed us with righteousness, You have given us new hope and a new beginning in You so that Your purposes can be lived in and through each of us. You alone are worthy of our adoration and worship. How great and awesome is our God!

How Great Is Our God

The splendor of a King,
Clothed in majesty
Let all the earth rejoice,
All the earth rejoice
He wraps himself in light,
And darkness tries to hide
And trembles at his voice,
And trembles at his voice

How great is our God,
sing with me
How great is our God,
and all who sing
How great, How great
Is our God
Age to age he stands
And time is in His Hands
Beginning and the End,
Beginning and the End
The Godhead, Three in one
Father, Spirit, Son
The Lion and the Lamb,
The Lion and the Lamb

How great is our God,
sing with me
How great is our God,
and all who sing
How great, How great
Is our God

Name above all names
You are Worthy of all praise
and My heart will sing how great
Is our God
(x2)

How great is our God,
Sing with me
How great is our God,
and all who sing
How great, How great
Is our God

Inner Darkness

When the Lord sets us free from the law of sin and death, it is a complete work. Some Christians do not fully comprehend the finished work of Christ in its fullness. They are plagued with condemnation, guilt and shame when it reality is already under His blood. As it were, they live in perpetual inner darkness, they are powerless and they live in defeat.

The freedom in our hearts and spirits is a precious gift from God. The enemy of our souls attacks us relentlessly. If we know our position in Christ, we will take our positions and fight this spiritual battle and triumph in the Lord for He is the captain of the hosts. He leads us on in victory for the enemy is a defeated foe.
