Worthy is the Lamb

We declare that You are worthy. You were slain from the foundations of the earth and You took upon the heavy weight of our sins. He took our sin and shame and clothed us with Your righteousness and holiness. We give You the pre-eminence, we give You all the praises from our hearts. For the Lord, our God is worthy, the Lamb of God who sits upon the throne to rule and reign in all eternity.

Worthy Is The Lamb

Thank You For The Cross, Lord
Thank You For The Price You Paid
Bearing All My Sin And Shame
In Love You Came, And Gave Amazing Grace

Thank You For This Love, Lord
Thank You For The Nail Pierced Hands
Washed Me In Your Cleansing Flow
Now All I Know, Your Forgiveness And Embrace

Worthy Is The Lamb, Seated On The Throne
Crown You Now With Many Crowns
You Reign Victorious
High And Lifted Up, Jesus Son Of God
The Darling Of Heaven Crucified
Worthy Is The Lamb
Worthy Is The Lamb
Worthy Is The Lamb

You Are Worthy Of My Praise

We praise you from the rising of the sun to its going down. Even when the going gets tough, we will not cease from praising You. In good and bad times, You remain faithful and true to us. You are worthy of our praise, You are worthy of all honour and glory. Even the most extravagant praise and worship is insufficient to express the love and gratitude from the depths of our hearts.

You Are Worthy Of My Praise
I will worship with all of my heart
I will praise You with all of my strength
I will seek You all of my days
And I will follow all of Your ways

I will give You all my worship
I will give You all of my praise
You alone I long to worship
You alone are worthy of my praise

I will bow down and hail You as King
I will serve You, give You everything
I will lift up my eyes to Your throne
I will trust You, I will trust You alone

Tasting His Goodness

Everyday is a gift from our loving Father. His goodness and graciousness melt our hearts. Taste and see that the Lord is good. Each encounter with the Lord leaves us longing for more of Him. We can never live without His presence in our life for His love is better than life. He showers His grace and mercy lavishly on us even though we are so unworthy to receive anything from Him. We are wholly and completely His for He has made us to glorify His great name.

Blessing of Friends

Next to family, God has put friends in our lives. The blessing of friends enriches and brightens our lives. Monte's (my husband) friends became mine and vice versa. We thank God for friends who have extended their hands towards us, friends who have spent their precious time with us. We continue to allow God to bring new friends into our lives for we desire to establish lasting friendships that deepen over time.

Not to be Taken for Granted

On 12th December last year, I accompanied my mother for her routine medical check up of her knees. After consultations with the doctor, we proceeded to the pharmacy. While we were there, I pointed to some alphabets on a panel and asked my mother to read them out. She started reading without any problem. I was amazed. My mother had very little education. She had always felt that she was disadvantaged due to the lack of education. In her younger days, very few people can afford to put their children to school. Oftentimes, it is necessary for a teenage or young adult to work to support their poor families.

In Singapore, we are so blessed. Many of us receive education for a good 10 to 15 years. Child from poor families might get scholarships to further their education. Many get bursaries to supplement for their educational needs. The government also tries to help low income families who cannot afford to put their young children through preschool.

We must never take education for granted. Many people in the poorer countries can only dream of what we often take for granted.

More than Able

In these difficult times, some are fearful that they cannot put their children through school. Some are struggling to keep up with their mortgages and loans. The piling bills are sure to come each month. The household expenses added on to the already heavy financial load. Yet, it is at the time, the Lord challenges us to fix our eyes on Jesus. He understands our fears and insecurity, He wants to rely completely on Him because He is more than able to provide for our needs.

Years ago, I read a book by a Christian couple in China. They went to prison for their work for the Lord. While they were in prison, their children were amazed that the rice container never ran out of rice. God miraculously provided for them. Our almighty God is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all we can ask or think.

Live Simply

I am thankful that my parents taught me early in life to live within my means. We are an average income family, my parents made sacrifices to support my two brothers and me. When I transitioned from single hood to be married in 1999, Monte (my husband) and I knew the importance of living within our means. This does not mean that we are deprived but rather we live simply. We have never needed to keep up with the Joneses. Happiness and contentment in not in what we possess materially but rather whom we belong to. We belong to the King of the universe who fills us with unspeakable joy. His hope keeps us alive and leaves us yearning for more of Him each day.

Beating Heart

Our hearts cannot contain all that God has given to us. Our hearts overflow with the tenderness of our loving God and Father. A beating heart speaks of the precious life that God allows us to live in. God in His goodness chose to flow through us despite of our imperfections and flaws. His method down the corridors of time is always through man, you and I who are privilege to carry His presence into every nook and corner of this earth. Let our hearts beat stronger for the lover of our soul, nothing will stop us from going deeper into this arduous journey He has laid before us. We see a glimpse of the glory of the risen Lord as we persevere to pursue Him who matters the most in our life.

Character Formation

This morning, I was blessed to spend my time with close to 30 bubbly seven year old children in a school in Queenstown. I was sharing on the topic of caring under the Character Development Programme (CDP). The CDP is an area that schools zero in to help develop children in character formation. The wonderful children were very responsive, bearing in mind that they have just started in the new school setting for the first time in their life in primary one. Their joy and smiles brightened my day.

Back to character development in children, very often well mannered and good children point back to the wonderful work of parents, guardians and caregivers who have painstakingly inculcate good values and attitudes to them. In dysfunctional families filled with bitter fights, boiling anger, physical, emotional and mental abuse, we are bound to produce rebellious and incontrollable children. The reason is simple; we are products of our environment and sphere of influence.

Last November, I was in Speech and Drama training with some eight year old children in a primary school in Circuit Road. A little boy caught my attention shortly upon commencement of the programme, he boldly declared that he was a bully. I was shocked. He was so young and he had accepted the label, which someone had put upon him, or maybe he put it on himself. If no one intervened in that child’s life, he would be heading for a lot of trouble. I looked the boy in the eye and told him that he should stop telling people that he was a bully because there was nothing good about being one. In my limited time there, I tried my level best to assure him that he was a good boy. It will take countless hours of caring teachers, parents, guardians and caregivers to shape the life of this young child but none of us should give up because every child is precious and every child deserves a chance.
