Embracing Change

The eagle has always captured the hearts of people. It radiates with strength, beauty, grace and magnificence as it soars through the sky. Many of us may not be aware that the eagle goes though some hard knocks of life in its lifetime.

At about 40 years old, the eagle has to make a choice between life and death. It goes through rebirth. It will fly alone to a very high place. At this place, it goes through transformation. The eagle breaks its beak and pluck out its feathers. For a long 150 days, it goes though the gruesome and painful process to stay alive. A new beak is grown strongly and a new coat of feathers now adorns the majestic eagle. Finally the eagle takes one of the most significant flights of its life as it soars powerfully into the sky. Through rebirth, the eagle adds another 30 to 40 years to its life. On the contrary, if the eagle chooses to resist change, it will die.

The eagle teaches us the importance of embracing change. The Lord puts us through some experiences that require us to go through change at different times of our life. We may resist change because it is challenging, humbling or even uncomfortable. We can respond to the work of God and embrace change gracefully by His grace. Ultimately, we grow stronger in Him. We emerge with triumph for He enables us to overcome and soar with wings up high to the sky.
