Once I was in conversation with someone about her work. She held a good job but it took up much of her waking moments. Going in to the office about nine in the morning and often knocking off about eight or nine at night. She looked so drained and tired.Work is one aspect of our lives. If our life revolves around work, what happens to other areas of life that are also important or may I say more important than our vocation.
As we entrust ourselves to the good hand of the Lord, He helps us to allocate our time wisely in the different areas and aspects of our lives thus enabling us to live wholesome and balanced lives for Him.
The late Dr Sam Sasser once related his experience in Samoa in the Pacific Islands. He saw a group of young children who were singing together. The amazing thing is that these children were singing in harmony. They did not have any formal training yet they were singing in parts. It was their natural talent. I could just picture that in my mind, it must have been heavenly.
